KELP MEAL

Thorvin kelp is an excellent source of naturally chelated macro and micro minerals, vitamins, and amino acids. Thorvin kelp provides many health benefits for people, pets, and livestock. It promotes shiny coat, supple skin, better growth rates and reproductive performance, purges heavy metals, increases milk yields, more efficient feed utilization, better glandular health, pigmentation, boosts immune system, etc.
Thorvin kelp provides excellent health benefits for yards, plants, pastures, trees, crops, and gardens too. Thorvin kelp meal is fabulous in the garden to increase crop yields, drought resistance, frost protection, and stress recovery.
WHERE DOES THORVIN KELP COME FROM & HOW IS IT HARVESTED?
Thorvin kelp is produced in a pristine environment close to the Arctic Circle. Thorvin kelp is geothermically dried under low temperatures that keep the vitamins, minerals, and enzymes intact.
Thorvin kelp is inspected and certified organic by the Icelandic Certification Agency TUN. Thorvin is inspected by QAI (Quality Assurance International), a U.S. reciprocating organization. Thorvin is the ONLY kelp meal currently OMRI (Organic Materials Review Institute) listed for livestock feed.
Pure ocean marine algae seaweed from the world's cleanest and richest sea waters, Thorvin kelp contains 60 minerals, natural vitamins and other health factors. Thorvin icelandic kelp is 100% organic and complies with the USDA NOP organic feed requirements. Thorvin is the highest quality kelp available. We have tried and compared Norwegian and Acadian kelp meals and neither contain the high percentages of vitamins, minerals, micro nutrients, and amino acids that Thorvin kelp does.
Thorvin kelp contains over 60 minerals (calcium, magnesium, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, sulfur, cobalt, copper, iodine, iron, maganese, selenium, etc.); 17 amino acids, including lysine, hystidine, and proline; vitamins A, B1, B6 (Niacin), B12, D, E, and K; carbohydrates; plant growth hormones - auxins, cytokinins, and gibberellins.
Thorvin Organic Kelp (Ascophyllum Nodosum) Analysis Information We keep Thorvin kelp meal out free choice for all the livestock: goats, llamas, and poultry. Additionally, we keep it in their daily organic herb/grain/seed mix. We feed Thorvin kelp in our cats and dogs raw food. We also use it extensively on our acreage for fertilizing ALL the trees, plants, herbs, ground covers; when transplanting; and in the compost piles.
DAILY THORVIN KELP RECOMMENDED FEEDING RATES FOR PEOPLE, PETS, & LIVESTOCK
Cats - 1/4 teaspoon Some animals may consume more than the others, which is why we feed it free choice to the livestock and in their daily herb/grain/seed mix. Since all beings are different and some require more mineralization than others, due to their current health status, free choice feeding allows them to consume what they need, when they feel they need it. We do feed Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth and Redmond Natural Trace Mineral Salt free choice to our livestock as well and we find that they consume the Thorvin Kelp more quickly than the other natural mineral supplements.
KELP AS FERTILIZER
As our soil erodes and is washed into the sea, kelp feeds on the dissolved minerals. Worked into the soil, dried kelp returns depleted minerals to the land, improving texture and fertility. Thorvin's 100% natural organic fertilizer is a non-burning mineralizer. Applied year round to vegetables, ornamentals, and trees it provides excellent vital nutrients our plants need. We use it mixed in water when transplanting as well.

**Please NOTE: There has been a shortage of employees in Iceland where Thorvin Kelp is harvested and our wholesale price has gone up over $25 per 55# bag this past year, so we have had to raise our prices.
June 2008 Update: Thorvin's Icelandic Kelp prices will go up July 1st, 2008, again...we are agonizing over carrying a different brand of kelp and may do so in the near future to offer a cheaper kelp option. It is our opinion and experience that the organic icelandic kelp is thee best, so we may gripe a bit about the pricing, it is the only kelp we will use to feed our own livestock, pets, people, plants, and trees and is a huge contributor to our lack of vet bills, amongst the 100 wonderful animal guardians here. The Icelandic kelp has helped keep all of us healthy and strong, promoting triplets and quads in our does who feed each and every one of their quads without assistance (though the does are eating lots of kelp, alfalfa, pasture and organic grain). Producing lots of excellent eggs, chicks, and healthy coats, radiant, strong, and active canines and felines who produce brilliant healthy kittens.
