EquiVision ~ the solution to equine cataracts is clear. ~ EquiVision, a Nutraceutical opthalmic product has been thoroughly tested and proven to reduce the opacity of cataracts in equine eyes, specifically due to Equine Recurrent Uveitis, and assists in maintaining eye clarity. What is EquiVision?
EquiVision has been developed and formulated by veterinarians, ophthalmologists and scientists to help alleviate:

How EquiVision works:

• EquiVision dissolves the glycated proteins in the eye lens

Active ingredients: Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium (Lubricant 0.5%). Sterile Water (Ophthalmic Grade Isotonic Solution pH 6.8 - 7.2). Antioxidants mix of 4 essential derivatives of amino acids, 8%. Benzalkonium CI (Preservative 0.01%).

Directions for use: Apply 1-2 drops in the affected eye or eyes, 3 times daily, using the following technique. Secure horse's head to restrict moving or jerking and pinch lower eyelid. forming a pocket, and apply a single drop. Do not allow the eye to blink or reopen for 10 seconds, to assure that the liquid is absorbed into the eye tissue. Repeat this procedure for each drop for each eye. Use for a minimum of 45 days. Note: Typically, you will begin to see results after the use of the first package of EquiVision.

Storage: This product can be stored at normal room temperature. To obtain maximum shelf life of the ingredients, the product should be stored in the refrigerator, but do not freeze.

Recommended: Have your veterinarian determine what type of cataract your equine may have.

Warnings: Once open, discard dispenser and any contents after 40 days. Keep the dispenser at room temperature. Keep the dispenser away from light, especially sunlight. Do not freeze. Do not use if seal is broken or if solution becomes dark or becomes cloudy. The proper appearance in color is transparent to light amber.

Cannot be used on a pet taking any type of steroid-based medication (topical or systemic). Although this combination wouldn't harm the pet, the steroid present in the pet's system would break down our compound and neutralize it. A pet currently on steroid medication should wait 2-3 weeks after ceasing the medication, allowing it to get out of its system, and then start up on the PetVision, as directed.

Cannot be used on a pet with a Diabetic Cataract. PetVision cannot reduce the diabetic cataract that has developed since cataracts of this type are more aggressive than most other types of cataract.

As with any medical condition, the sooner the cataract can be addressed the better. An ideal case for PetVision is an incipient cataract (less than 15% coverage) in a non-diabetic pet, not on any steroids. As with anything, the longer one waits to apply the drops the odds for success start to decline.
