Kitty-DT (formerly Kitty Distmepaid) ~ is a natural organic herbal remedy that helps your kitten or cat overcome feline distemper, also known as: feline panleukopenia (FP), feline infectious enteritis, cat typhoid, and cat fever. This Kitty-DT (aka Kitty Distempaid) natural remedy will ease gastrointestinal distress, gas, cramping, vomiting, and bloody diarrhea. Kitty-DT contains herbs that calm and soothe the digestive tract, as well as boost the immune system and help fight the feline panleukopenia virus.
This natural Kitty-DT (aka Kitty Distempaid) remedy is also useful for vomiting, bloody diarrhea, corona, e-coli, and giardia. Kitty-DT helps build the immune system (especially good for kittens who are weaning from their mother - in this situation you can give "Kitty-DT" once a day). "Kitty-DT" can help stop the vomiting and diarrhea caused by environment or diet changes, stress, and ease travel discomfort, bloat, gas, and in some cases it helps alleviate bad breath.
What is Feline Distemper? Feline Distemper (Panleukopenia) is a viral disease affecting domestic cats and all other felids (e.g., lions, tigers, and other wild cats), as well as raccoons, and mink. Feline Distemper usually affects kittens that less than one year of age. However, kittens that are born to affected queens (infected in utero) or infected very shortly after birth may display tremors, have a very high stepping gait, stand with their feet very far apart, or even fall down while standing or walking.
How is Feline Distemper transmitted? The feline distemper virus is shed in all body secretions and excretions of affected animals. Recovered animals may shed the virus for months. Fleas and other insects, especially flies, may play a role in transmission of the disease. The route of infection is either inhalation or ingestion of infective material by a susceptible host. Feline distemper virus affects all rapidly dividing cells including cells of the intestinal mucosa, bone marrow, and reticuloendothelial system.
How is Feline Distemper diagnosed? Feline distemper diagnosis is made from clinical signs and demonstration of an extremely low white blood cell count. Confirmation of the diagnosis can be made by detection of virus particles in the feces.
Feline Distemper Treatment and Control: The current veterinarian treatment for feline distemper consists of intravenous fluids or plasma and transfusions may be given. Because of the low white blood cell counts, animals are particularly susceptible to other infections, so antibiotics may be given to treat or attempt to prevent secondary infections. Younger kittens and animals with very low white blood cell counts have much less chance of surviving the disease.
We recommend giving Vibactra Plus in conjunction with the Kitty-DT remedy. Vibactra Plus is designed to work on viral and bacterial infections, so it will help eliminate the distemper virus, plus prevent secondary infections.
What are the symptoms of Feline Distemper? Signs of feline panleukopenia can vary in severity from very mild to severe. The many signs are not always typical and many owners may even believe that their cat has been poisoned or swallowed a foreign object. Because of this fact, treatment may be delayed or neglected. The first signs you might notice are generalized depression, loss of appetite, high fever, lethargy, vomiting, dehydration, and hanging over the water dish.
The course of the disease may be short and explosive. Advanced cases, when discovered may cause death within hours. Normally, the sickness may go on for three or four days after the first elevation of body temperature. Fever will fluctuate during the illness and abruptly fall to subnormal levels shortly before death. Other signs in later stages may be diarrhea, anemia, dehydration, and persistent vomiting. Feline distemper is so prevalent and the signs so varied that any sick cat should be taken to a veterinarian for a definite diagnosis.
Panleukopenia destroys tissues in the body including white blood cells. This leaves the kitten open for growth of bacteria or viruses. Cats that are treated early at the onset of the disease have a better chance of recovery than those who aren't.
It helps to suppress viral and bacterial infections while a kitten is in this susceptible state. Vitamin C can be given along with the Kitty-DT (formerly Kitty Distempaid) and Vibactra Plus treatment. For large cats 250 milligrams per hour and for kittens 100 milligrams per hour while the cat is in the feverish state will help to build the immune system back up.
Once the fever is down and the cat can hold down food, you can start feeding solid food. Raw beef or chicken liver for 2-3 days is a tonic for cats. We find our cats prefer chicken liver to beef liver. Avoid chilling for several days afterwards and continue with the Kitty-Distempaid (aka Kitty Distempaid) four times per day, Vibactra Plus twice a day and Vitamin C twice a day for a couple of weeks to prevent a relapse.
What are Kitty-DT's (aka Kitty Distempaid) natural ingredients? Kitty-DT contains natural organic human grade herbs.

Suggested Kitty-DT (formerly Kitty Distempaid) Preventative Use: Shake well before each use. Give Kitty-DT orally 4 times daily for 10 days and give Vibactra Plus twice a day for 10 days. Nine times out of ten this preventative treatment will prevent the kitten(s) from coming down with the feline distemper disease, if dosed as soon as you know they have been exposed to the virus. IF kitten was vaccinated and/or chemically wormed give Life Cell Support 3x/day for 14 days in conjunction with Kitty-DT and Vibactra Plus preventaive dosing.
For kittens who aren't weaned from their mothers, begin preventative dosing as soon as they are completely weaned, as instructed above.
For rescues and sanctuaries who have had distemper on the premises previously, dose all incoming weaned cats and kittens per the instructions above, then give both the Kitty-DT (aka Kitty Distempaid) and Vibactra Plus once/day until they go to their new homes or approximately 10 weeks of age.
For kittens who have not able to have the benefit of their mother to nurse them till 8 weeks of age, preventative dosing is as follows: One drop daily of both the Kitty-DT (aka Kitty Distempaid) and the Vibactra Plus until the kittens reach 1 1/2 pounds. Then it is 2 drops 1x daily. Continue dosing 1x daily following the weight chart until they are 10 weeks.
Wolf Creek Ranch NOTE:The Kitty-DT (formerly Kitty Distempaid) and Vibactra Plus remedies are working fabulously for all feline distemper cases, including kitty rescues, with a 98% success rate, even when the kitty's veterinarian didn't hold out much hope for the kitten. If dosed according to directions, recovery begins nearly immediately and within 24 to 48 hours kittens are eating on their own again. This includes those who have started having seizures, these remedies can help them get well and stop having seizures if dosed immediately.
Treating a litter of kittens? If you are treating numerous kittens, some preventatively and some for active distemper infections, we recommend obtaining either our tiny 1/2 ounce or 1 ounce dropper bottles, so you can split the herbal remedies into separate bottles - possibly one for preventative dosing and the other for active infection dosing or so you can split part of a bottle to give to someone else who is treating kittens in another location: home, shelter, or rescue. This helps prevent having to purchase 2 or 3 bottles of product, if you really don't need that much.
Caution: Safe use in pregnant animals or animals intended for breeding has not been proven. If animal’s condition worsens or does not improve, stop product administration and consult your veterinarian. An examination from a veterinarian is recommended prior to using this product.
Warning:For animal use only. Keep out of reach of children and animals. In case of accidental overdose, contact a health professional immediately.

SUGGESTIONS WHEN TREATING MORE THAN ONE PET:
AMBER GLASS BOTTLES & SYRINGES ~ If you have more than one pet that you are treating, you might want to consider purchasing one or more amber glass 1/2 oz., 1 oz., or 4 oz. dropper bottles, so you can split up the tincture into a smaller bottle. That way there is less chance of product contamination.
In addition, when treating more than one pet, it may be necessary to assure sterile administration without carry over from pet to pet. This is very important when using Paxxin to treat some pups and using as a preventative for others. The best way to assure this is to use the dropper only to transfer product to an individual sterile oral syringe, using a different syringe for each pet. (This method will also reduce the chances of product contamination.) Those syringes should be sterilized after each use. Each pet should have its own syringe that is not shared with another pet.
The use of a syringe containing measured drops from the dropper will also remove the risk of the animal biting the glass dropper.
SYRINGES ~ these are luer slip syringes without needles that are excellent for administering measured amounts of Parvaid, CS, tinctures, etc. Reinforced tip, large finger grips, smooth draw and easy-to-read graduations. Rubber plunger with double contact for a positive seal and effortless injection. FDA approved and autoclavable.
If purchasing for use with Paxxin (aka Parvaid), syringe size needed is based on the weight of the puppy. We suggest two syringes, one for oral doses and one for enema doses (if not being given Sub Q fluids or on IV's, enemas are or may be necessary to prevent dehydration). Make sure to mark the enema syringe clearly, as you never want to accidentally use an enema syringe for an oral dose, even after it's been washed, as you can reinfect a puppy with parvo.
Puppies/kittens weighing under 3 pounds need 5 to 6 ml syringes. Animals weighing 3-10 pounds need 12 ml syringes. Puppies weighing 11-20 pounds need 20 ml syringes. Puppies weighing 21-40 pounds need 50 ml syringes. Puppies 41-50 pounds need 60 ml syringes.
SYRINGE ~ 5 ml ~ $.85
SYRINGE ~ 6 ml ~ $1.00
SYRINGE ~ 12 ml ~ $1.75
SYRINGE ~ 20 ml ~ $2.50
SYRINGE ~ 60 ml ~ $3.25
AMBER GLASS BOTTLES ~ These are terrific for storing dried herbs, tinctures, colloidal silver, etc. All are boston rounds and have black plastic phenolic lids, unless noted. The misters are fabulous and deliver a very light and delicate mist. Excellent for misting the face or for animals who are shy of sprayers. The cute little 1/2 oz. droppers are perfect for splitting 1 oz. tincture bottles into two separate bottles.
